Are you a road dog or a gravel grinder? Either way this event is for you! You can choose from either a 35-mile road ride OR a 26-mile gravel ride starting at the Ripplinger Gouker Prairie Preserve near Byron, IL. 

After the ride we can head to Hairy Cow brewery in Byron for food and refreshment.

ROAD ROUTE:  This 34.4-mile road ride is entirely paved and has a rest stop in Leaf River at a gas station around mile 21. This route is hilly which makes it strenuous. You should bring plenty of water and a preferred snack since food is limited at this gas station.  Ride pace will be 14-16 mph. Ride leader is David Sible 815-904-2837. 

GRAVEL ROUTE: This 25.6-mile gravel route has approximately 10 miles of gravel. Gravel routes are not intended or safe to be ridden on a road bike. A gravel or mountain bike which have wider tires than a road bike is recommended. Keep in mind that gravel is more strenuous to ride than paved roads and that the route is hilly when deciding whether this ride is for you.
There are no locations to purchase food or drink along the route. Bring your own snacks and plenty of water (at least two 20oz water bottles). The pace will be 10-15 mph with breaks as needed. No one will be left behind. Ride leader is Karen Denny 815-762-2060.
