The Past Peak Leaf Peepers Tour will be held this October on the 26th and 27th in New Glarus, Wisconsin. I know, I know there won’t be many leafs by then but I didn’t set the date so don’t shoot the messenger. On Saturday there is a short and long route of 34 and 45 miles, both go over to Blanchardville where we can take a break at the Viking Café or the Cenex gas station. From there the 34 mile route heads back to New Glarus while the 45 mile route goes down to Argyle then back to New Glarus. For Sunday I slightly modified the old route to add a couple of hills and it’s still only 1300 ft. of climbing. The route is 39 miles down to Albany and back, a combination of old and new roads.
All routes start at 10am at the Sugar River Trail parking lot on Railroad St in New Glarus.
If you plan on staying over Saturday night in New Glarus there are 2 motels the Swiss-Aire and the Chalet Landhaus. You should make your reservations soon as the rooms will go quick the closer it gets to October 26th. If you would like to come up and ride just Saturday or Sunday that's ok too.
Last year we had dinner reservations for Saturday night at the New Glarus Hotel Restaurant. If enough people want to you plan on eating dinner with the group let Paul Mollway know so he can arrange the reservation with the restaurant.
